hey, i’m jen. i am an artist and an art psychotherapist who is currently a stay-at-home-mom to a radiant little girl.
my daughter, novi, was born january 26, 2007. i’m not so much telling you that so that you’ll hand-make her a cool birthday card next year (though that would be fabu!) rather, i’m telling you her birth date so you can deduce her age at the time each art project on this site was created, based on the date of the blog.
as an art therapist, i am extensively trained in choosing art materials and projects that are not only developmentally appropriate, but also ones that invoke confidence in a budding artist.
my goal for this site is to share with parents, caregivers, and teachers various ideas for creative activities to do with their kids. it is never too early to begin to introduce your child to the world of art and nurture the big ideas housed in those little bodies. i hope this site brings you inspiration and plenty of paint cut paste messes!
